KYLE&LOKI
“Echo”
Long ago, Kyle was an ordinary rag doll with a clear, melodic voice. He had been the favorite toy of a boy who dreamed of the rock stage, but the boy grew up, and the doll was lost during a move. Kyle was found by a bitter, plain-looking girl. She decided to remake him: she pulled a shapeless lump of fabric from the trash and crudely, crookedly stitched on a second head—an ugly, eyeless, mouthless thing that dangled beside the first. Dissatisfied with the result, she hurled the doll into a storm drain in a fit of rage.
Kyle awoke in pitch darkness. Then, the second head began to stir. As it descended through winding pipes amidst the flow of filth, it could not see, yet it could scream. Its piercing shriek echoed off the concrete walls, becoming distorted and heavy with menace. Thus, Loki was born. While Kyle’s voice remained bright and melodic, Loki acquired a heavy, low growl—the roar of a wounded beast, the voice of the abyss itself. They eventually found themselves at a junkyard, where an old radio suddenly blasted the riff from "Back in Black." Kyle remembered the boy’s dream of the rock stage, while Loki yearned to unleash his fury.
They are two sides of the same coin, two souls trapped in a single, battered body. Kyle represents melody, soul, and beauty; Loki embodies chaos, rage, and raw power. When the drums kick in and the guitars roar, a battle erupts between them. Loki surges forward, drowning everything out with his guttural growl. But Kyle rises to meet the challenge, soaring above the roar with a pure, piercing scream. They clash right there on stage, vying to prove to the audience which of them is the ultimate badass. They can sing in turn or blend into unison, creating an incredible symbiosis of melody and noise. It is precisely this internal war between the two heads that forms the foundation of their art. Their best songs are born from their arguments.
They are DollarS. A voice that travels from a whisper to a scream. When Kyle touches the microphone, the room falls silent. And when Loki lets loose, the room is deafened.
